from 21 reviewsI have had a number of Wind Controllers in my time including Akai EWI and even the ludicrously expensive Roland AeroPhone 30 Pro. In my view the Greaten 500 pro is the best of them all with excellent digital sounds, superb features and great looks and build quality. What’s more is it is extremely reasonably priced. Whilst the Roland has many more digital instruments it can’t touch the Greaten in terms of sound quality, looks or design.
Hello and thanks for prompting me!
For a point of reference, I'm now 73 years old and have been playing woodwinds for over 60 years, and getting paid to do it.
It is a very well made electronic EWI.
Packaging is OUTSTANDING!
Enclosed User Guide: No so good.
For me: the one glaring missing point was: You must save to User first to make and retain any changes to the settings. The Aerophone is not like that, and that's OK we just have to know to do this.
There are inconsistencies in the manual and item names that we here in the US won't really understand. I'm going to make a spreadsheet that clears this point up.
Also, backing one's User Storage is there a way to do this via USB??? When I plugin to my computer I don't see anything.
Being a sax guy I prefer to be able to touch the keys, So the Aerophone wins on that, but everything else isn't bad. One just has to get use to it and that takes practice.
I wish there was a BIS key, y'all took it off this model. ARGH.
I think most of the sounds are EXCELLENT, even the tenor sax is acceptable.
Oh, backing out of the menu using the sequence "Blank -> Reset" is not in the manual anywhere. What a pain in the arse that is.
Lastly, did you folks make any of the AKAI EWI stuff? Really similar.
Say hi to Vivian.....

nice instrument ewi for afforable price with midi function included, when connected to PC, midi pilot are automatically downloaded from the instrument ..the sounds are very good and I enjoy every day to play with..reactivity is top and expressivity is beautiful. what else😀
Very easy to use. Intuitive and versatile instrument.
Good build quality, and on top of it all, the user service were responsive and helpful when I raised a question about the configuration of the instrument.
I love this instrument, endless possibilities, easy to play!
I'm glad I bought it!!!
professional instrument, reasonable cost, free shipping, nice carrying case, I love it!
My original thumb hook was cracked and broke off right away. This replacement did the job for me. A replacement by the manufacturer was not offered.
I loveeeee this thing! I used to play trumpet in college and wanted to back on track on doing music, the greaten ap300 pro is excellent for that you can conect your phone via Bluetooth and practice with the youtube backing tracks, its simple, sounds great and motivates you to keep practicing, honestly i loooving it! It's not easy specially when changing octaves but hey you just need to practice :)
Very nice. Not too complicated to learn for a beginner. It will be great if it has an instructions booklet showing those keys functions and provide few easy songs for buyi to learn.
I am new to dwi’s but am very happy so far. I am spending around an hour a day playing. Would love to find a fingering chart for every way to play every note. It would come in very handy for old timers like me. I’m 76 and haven’t played much of anything since high school.
I've bounced between a Roland AE-20 and EWI 5000, but sold the EWI due to some problems, including no speaker, limited realistic instruments, hard blowing leading to exhaustion and horrible noises if my right thumb came off the metal plate. Then, I saw the AP300 Pro on YouTube and purchased one. My problems with the EWI 5000 were gone, and I enjoy playing this instrument very much. The "real" instrument sounds are quite convincing, the thumb grounding problem does not exist, and blowing is more comfortable. EWI fingerings work perfectly. Contrary to some online comments, the AP-300 Pro has no click to the keys at all. They are stationary. Service and repair have not been needed, so no comment there. All things considered, this is a very good bargain!
The EWI was a great value and I am enjoying learning to play it. The internal speaker is fine, but it sounds great through a 20 watt keyboard amp.
